Pvt. Edward William Johnson

 

Edward William Johnson was born Aug. 18, 1916 to Clint Edward and Florence Viola Johnson. He died Nov. 3, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Pvt. Johnson served in World War II with the U.S. Army Philippine Dept. and died while being transferred from the Philippine Islands to Hoten Prisoner of War Camp, Mukden, Manchukuo as the result of malaria. He was buried at sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
