Herbert Henry Hill was born Aug. 31, 1923 to Edwin Elvin and Florence Susan Tonkinson Hill. He died May 23, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.
Sgt. Hill served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 811th Medical Air Evacuation Squadron and died when the plane in which he was flying developed difficulty and crashed in France. He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
