Notes About N.E. Iowans in the Service.

Allison—Mrs. Vernon Harms has received a card from her husband, Staff Sgt. Vernon Harms, sent from Dulag-Luft Camp in Germany, dated Sept. 17, 1944, stating that he has been taken prisoner of war and is in good health, that he will be transported to another camp in a few days and for her not to write until she hears from him again. This is the first direct word that she has received from him since his being taken a prisoner.  Sergeant Harms was a waist gunner on a B-17 at the time he was taken prisoner.
