Lt. Ernest Frederick Engeman

 

 

Ernest Frederick Engeman was born June 4, 1922 to Ben and Emma Heiser Engeman. He died Aug. 4, 1944 and is has a cenotaph in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Lt. Engeman is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.

Lt. Engeman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 603rd Bomb Squadron, 398th Bomb Group. He was KIA in Germany when his Fortress received a direct hit from anti-aircraft fire. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
