Verl Clark Davisson was born Feb. 5, 1922 to John and Velda Herr Davisson. He died Oct. 9, 2013 and is buried in Wellman Cemetery, Wellman, IA.

Verl served in World War II with the U.S. Army 1st Infantry Division “Big Red One” and was at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was in the North Africa Campaign and was at the Battle of the Bulge. He earned 6 Battle Stars, 2 Invasion Arrow Heads and 1 Bronze Star.
