WAR SERVICE NEWS.

Lieut. (j.g.) Robert King, who is in the naval air corps, left Monday morning for Corpus Christi, Tex., after spending a 10-day leave in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. A. King. Pvt. Ross King, who had furlough at the same time, left Wednesday morning for Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Robert V. King, Lieut.(j.g.) A & R Dept., Nav. Avn. Unit, Kingsville, Tex., is a cousin of Gordon Brodie. He enlisted in May, 1941, trained at Corpus Christi, Texas, and moved to Kingsville last Sept. He was married last November.

SOLDIERS NEWS.

Lt. (jg) Robert King, U.S. Navy, visited in LeMars last week with his mother, Mrs. V. A. King.  He is on his way from Corpus Christi to Edgewood, near Baltimore, where he will take a 10-weeks intensive course in chemical warfare.

Robert Vernon King was born Dec. 24, 1920 to Vernon A. and Helen Mae Brodie King. He died Sept. 18, 1993 and is buried in Utah State Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, UT.

Lt CDR King served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Corps.
