Pfc. Bert Huisman

 

 

Bert Huisman of Sioux City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huisman of Alton, was inducted into the Army last week, having left Wednesday for Camp Dodge. Bert is married and has two children.

Pvt. Bert Huisman Wounded in Action

Pvt. Bert Huisman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huisman of Alton, Ia., was wounded in action March 23, while serving with the Seventh infantry in France and will be awarded the purple heart, according to a letter received from him by his sister, Mrs. Helmer Johnson, 407 S. Iowa street.

Pvt. Huisman, overseas since last January, is a graduate of Alton high school. He has two children living in Sioux City.

WOUNDED
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Huisman have received word that their son, Pvt. Bert Huisman, formerly of Sioux City, was wounded in action in France a few weeks ago. He was shot through the left hand and is still in a service hospital.

Pfc. and Mrs. Bert Huisman and children of Sioux City were weekend guests of their mother here. The former is recovering from a severe hand wound received in Germany.
