S/Sgt. Harold E. Beach

 

MEMORIAL SERVICES AT MOUNT VERNON

Memorial services for Staff Sgt. Harold E. Beach, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Beach of Mount Vernon, will be held in the Methodist church in Mount Vernon, Sunday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m.  Dr. W. G. Rowley will have charge of the services, assisted by Hahn-Howard American Legion Post, No. 480.

Harold Edward Beach was born May 9, 1912 to John Edward and Allie L. Horn Beach. He died Mar. 16, 1945 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium and has a cenotaph in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Mount Vernon, IA.

Sgt. Beach served in World War II with the U.S. Army 110th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country in a German prison camp and was awarded the Bronze Star.
