Pvt. Kennedy served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart after being wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.

Harold Louis Kent was born Jan. 18, 1925 to Gage A. and Mildred Johnson Kent. He died Jan. 23, 2014 and is buried in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Trinity, FL.

Harold served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Byron Charles Kern was born May 4, 1920 to Herman John and Elsie May Martin Kern. He died Jan. 5, 1944 and is buried in Norwalk Cemetery, Norwalk, IA.

Lt. Kern served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was killed in a plane crash while in the performance of his duty and in the service of his country.

Hugh Benjamin Kimrey was born Oct. 6, 1922 to Clyde E. and Maude Dyer Kimrey. He died Sept. 12, 1944 and is buried in IOOF Cemetery, Indianola, IA.

Petty Officer Kimrey served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died in the Naval Hospital in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Elmer Boyd Kirts was born Aug. 28, 1919 to George and Bertha Elton Kirts. He died May 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 3, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Warren County, IA.

Chief Petty Officer Boyd served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS LUCE (DD-522) when it was sunk by kamikaze attack and she slid beneath the surface in a violent explosion carrying 126 of her 312 officers and men with her. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart.
