Daniel Gilbert Ayers “Gilbert" Hancock was born Feb. 7, 1922 to Bryan and Hazel Vermazen Hancock. He died Feb. 26, 2003 and is buried in Green Glade Cemetery, Farmington, IA.

Sgt. Hancock served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Gene Edward Hancock was born Aug. 26, 1920 to Bryan and Hazel Vermazen Hancock. He died July 9, 2015 and is buried in Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, TX.

Capt. Hancock served in World War II with the U.S. Army and while with the 998th Treadaway Bridge Company was transferred to England in preparation for the allied invasion of France. On D-Day, the 998th landed in Normandy, France with the task of building any necessary bridges for the combat troops to use in their assault against enemy forces. He was awarded four Bronze Stars and five Bronze Stars on the EAMA Campaign.

Ralph Donald Hancock was born Oct. 17, 1918 to Bryan and Hazel Vermazen Hancock. He died July 1, 2006 and is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, MO.

Sgt. Hancock served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Neil Ritz Haney was born Jan. 7, 1915 to Floyd F. and Lola Mae Ritz Haney. He died Nov. 16, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Eldon Cemetery, Eldon, IA.

Sgt. Haney served in World War II with the U.S. Army 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry and died of wounds received in action on Leyte Island.

Albert Leroy Harward was born June 11, 1924 to LeRoy M. and Lala Miller Harward. He died Dec. 21, 1945 and is buried in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, IL.

Flight Officer Harward served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 54th Fighter Squadron and was killed in Alaska as the result of an aircraft accident.

Harold served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Carrier Air Group #86. He flew fighter planes off the USS Wasp (CV-7) in the Pacific.

Wendell Lorance Hoenshel was born Feb. 26, 1921 to Wendell Holmes and Ada Belle Harness Hoenshel. He died Mar. 2, 1945 and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, IA.

Lt. Hoenshel served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 322nd Bomb Group. His plane was shot down on his 35th mission and he parachuted to safety, but was captured, mistreated and killed by the Germans. He was buried in Lons-Gons, Germany, for one year, and then taken to Maastricht, Holland, where he rested in the Margraten National Cemetery. His grave was adopted by a young Dutch couple living is Maastricht. He was awarded the Air Medal and five Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
