Albert Earl Carpenter, Jr. was born May 30, 1922 to Albert Earl (Sr.) and Mary Naomi Atkins Carpenter. He died June 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and is buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Milton, IA.

2nd Lt. Carpenter served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 408th Bomber Squadron, 22nd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA in the South Pacific and was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.

Merritt William Cartnal was born Dec. 22, 1918 to William Henry and Cora Mae Sack Cartnal. He died in 1944 and is buried in Green Glade Cemetery, Farmington, IA.

Merritt served during World War II with the U.S. Merchant Marines.
