Wurth Wendell Banks was born Mar. 24, 1912 to Joseph F. and Florence O. Ross Banks. He died Oct. 2, 1995 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA. 

Wurth served in World War II with the U.S. Army as an ammunitions driver in the battles of North Africa, Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, Naples, Anzio, Rome, southern France and the Rhineland. The last conflict was at Ardennes Alsace.
