Kenneth Absolem Ryan was born Jan. 29, 1922 to Absolem and Grace E. Lunt Ryan. He died Dec. 24, 2006 and is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners, NY.

Cpl. Ryan served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He was severely wounded in action during the Battle of Sugar Loaf Hill on Okinawa; his twin brother Keith was killed in this action. Kenneth was awarded the Purple Heart.
