Orval Richard (Dick) Smith was born Sept. 20, 1922. He died Aug. 13, 2013 and is buried in Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson, TN.

Dick served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Robert Milton Smith was both Dec. 8, 1924 to Richard Montgomery and Wilhelmina E. Smith. He died May 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 2, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and in Elmwood Cemetery, Morning Sun, IA.

Petty Officer Smith served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Luce (DD-522) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was sunk in a Japanese kamikaze attack, carrying 126 of her 312 officers and men with her. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Warren Gerlach Smith was born June 22, 1915 to Frank J. and Emily Smith. He died Nov. 20, 1943 and is buried in Stringer Cemetery, Marshall County, IN. 

2nd Lt. Smith served with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was killed in an airplane crash while on a routine training flight. He was living in Oakville, IA, at the time of his entry into the armed services.
