Clarence Edwin Hawkins was born Mar. 12, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Hawkins. He died Sept 8, 1944 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 4, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii. His remains were never recovered.

1st Lt. Hawkins served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Fighting Squadron 111 (VMF-111), Marine Air Group 31 (MAG-31) at Tutuila, Samoa and was MIA/KIA on an air mission, flying from Makin Island in the Gilberts. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
