Stanley Warren Sayre was born Sept. 22, 1918 to John Edwin and Caroline Dove Crabb Sayre. He died June 22, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Lt. Sayre served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died while in the service of his country. He was awarded the Air Medal with 2 Gold Stars.

Clarence Henry Sievers was born Aug. 19, 1905 to Henry C. and Marie B. Hoppe Sievers. He died Mar. 20, 1944 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.

Pvt. Sievers served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died while in the service of his country.

Harry Alvin Slemmons was born Sept. 12, 1920. He died Jan. 21, 1949 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.

1st Lt. Slemmons served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Clarence Leonard Smith was born Feb. 9, 1923 to Harland Leonard and Gladys M. Smith He died Apr. 8, 1945, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 2, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Murdoch-Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Petty Officer Smith served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS YMS-103 (minesweeper) and was KIA when that vessel was sunk while conducting rescue operations on a ship that had struck a mine. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Vaughan Joseph Spratt was born Oct. 21, 1914 to Edward L. and Julia Z. Tiernan Spratt. He died May 16, 1946 and is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Oxford, IA. Vaughan served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
