Joseph Leland Palmer was born Aug. 3, 1914. He died Oct. 26, 1947 and is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, MO. 

Sgt. Palmer served with the U.S. Army in World War II. He was living in Iowa City, IA prior to his entry into the armed services.

Thomas Clarence Patterson was born July 23, 1922 to Clarence and Margaret Price Patterson. He died Nov. 26, 1995 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.

Thomas served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Henry Louis Pelzer was born Nov. 11, 1922 to Louis and Mildred Lenore Weenink Pelzer. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium and in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.

2nd Lt. Pelzer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 69th Tank Battalion, 6th Armored Division and was MIA/KIA in Belgium and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Loren Parker Pelzer was born Mar. 31, 1919 to Louis and Mildred Lenore Weenink Pelzer. He died Mr. 13, 1943/FOD Mar. 14, 1944 and was memorialized in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, IA.

LTJG Pelzer served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Corps and was MIA/KIA when ferrying a plane from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA and was near Mount Shasta when he was last seen. No trace was found of Lt. Pelzer or his plane until his body was recovered Oct. 30, 1981.*
