Clarence Dale Mackie was born Aug. 30, 1922 to Calvin Arthur and Mae Agnes Peterson Mackie. He died Jan. 25, 1996 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Union, IA.

Clarence served in World War II with the U.S. Army 14th Infantry, 71st Division.

Glen Leonard Martin was born Dec. 10, 1915 to Gidson Leclaire and Daisy Luella Whittaker Martin. He died Nov. 13, 1942 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Union, IA.

Petty Officer Martin served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Barton (DD-599) which was torpedoed and sunk off Savo Island. He was MIA/FOD/KIA in the service of his country.

Donald Glen Mathews was born July 24, 1919 to Dallas Monroe and Alice Maude Arnold Mathews. He died Apr. 12, 1991 and is buried in Eldora City Cemetery, Eldora, IA.

Donald served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Harold David Matz was born Oct. 8, 1920 to Philip and Lena Gamber Matz. He died Jan. 28, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.

Cpl. Matz served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 337th Bomber Squadron, 96th Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA over France and awarded the Purple Heart.

Robert Ellis Middleton was born July 18, 1919. He died July 11, 1984 and is buried in Westminster Memorial Park, Westminster, CA.

William Ralph Miller was born Oct. 31, 1923 to William W. and Dessie Darlene Glidden Miller. He died Dec. 24, 1948 and is buried in Alden Cemetery, Alden, IA.

Petty Officer Miller served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Robert James Montgomery was born July 30, 1922 to Leo J. and Grace N. Webb Montgomery. He died Feb. 22, 1945 and is buried in Eldora City Cemetery, Eldora, IA. He was initially buried in the 4th Marine Division Cemetery on Iwo Jima and returned to the U.S. in 1948.

Pvt. Montgomery served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines, 4th Marine Division and participated in combat operations on Iwo Jima until KIA.

Dana Thomas Mudd was born Aug. 21, 1920 to Ora C. and Lucy Morse Mudd. He died Sept. 21, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium. 

Flight Officer Mudd served in World War II as a Glider Pilot with the 91st Squadron, 439th Troop Carrier Group. He was KIA and awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.

Walter Ray Mulford was born Dec. 8, 1925 to Arthur Richard and Esther Conrad Mulford. He died Mar. 31, 1989 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls, IA. Petty Officer Mulford served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
