John Herman Fiet, Jr. was born Apr. 14, 1924 to John Herman (Sr.) and Clara Agnes Peterson Fiet. He died Feb. 10, 1946 and is buried in Reinbeck Cemetery, Reinbeck, IA.

John served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Floyd Lyle Freerksen was born July 16, 1913 to Lewis N. and Sadie Celesta Strickler Freerksen. He died Nov. 15, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Freerksen served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Preston (DD-379) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel was sunk by enemy shell during an engagement in the vicinity of Savo Island. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
