Col. Cole served in World War II with the U.S. Navy destroyer and amphibious services. He also served with the U.S. Air Force Reserves in Aerial Combat Intelligence during the Korean War and became a Capt. in the USAF Dental Corps.He served as both Dental and Hospital Commanders in the U.S., England, Germany, and Vietnam. He was assigned to the USAF Academy for seven years. He retired from the USAF in 1978.
