Petty Officer Barnes served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Quillback (SS-424).

Clarence Junior “C.J.” Barwick was born Mar. 31, 1918 to Clarence W. and May M. Hoffman Barwick. He died Feb. 11, 2006 and is buried in Grand Meadow Cemetery, Washta, IA.

Lt. Barwick served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was awarded the Combat Infantry Award, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, European Theater Medal with four Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.
