Alvin Carl Meier was born June 5, 1920 to Carl J. and Alma Schaefer Meier. He died Nov. 9, 2011 and is buried in Saint Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Artesian, IA. 

Alvin served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Europe and was awarded the Silver and Bronze stars.
