Willis Ned Barnhouse was born Feb. 21, 1922 to Hobart E. and Minnie Brinegar Barnhouse. He died July 11, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Petty Officer Barnhouse served in World War II aboard the USS Maddox (DD-731) and was MIA/KIA in the service of his country in the Mediterranean Sea area. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

James Archie Bettis was born Nov. 18, 1920 to Archie Harlan and Verna Clare Mullin Bettis. He died June 21, 1944 and is buried in Crossroads Cemetery, Plano, IA.

Sgt. Bettis served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 322nd Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group and was KIA in Germany.

George H. Brewer was born July 22, 1919 to Harry W. and Bessie Ruth Smith Brewer. He died Sept 12, 1944 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, IA.

1st Lt. Brewer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 430th Fighter Squadron, 474th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force flying P-38 Lightnings and was KIA when shot down near Froitzheim, Germany.

Junior Raymond Brinegar was born Apr. 30, 1926 to Roy Benjamin and Edna Mae Rutledge Brinegar. He died Apr. 8, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.

Pvt. Brinegar served in World War II with the U.S. Army 394th Infantry Regiment, 99th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.
