James Francis Pratt was born Sept. 27, 1918 to Royal and Mary Winifred McNamara Pratt. He died June 4, 1989 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.

James served in World War II with the U.S. Army 14th Armored Division, 732rd Tank Battalion and 794th Military Police Battalion. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
