Harley Dale Larsen was born May 30, 1923 to Joseph J. and Evelyn Madsen Larsen. He died Sept. 13, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.

Pvt. Larsen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 707th Tank Battalion and died of wounds received in action in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Lee Paul Carl Leuthauser was born Aug. 21, 1921 to Albert and Martha Zietlow Leuthauser. He died Aug. 7, 2014 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Leuthauser served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Samuel Asbury Lewellen was born Dec. 13, 1896 to Samuel Asbury and Constance Rebecca Campbell Lewellen. He died Sept. 26, 1948 and is buried in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, IA.

MSgt. Lewellen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 334th Engineers.

Berttene Jenkins Linden was born Sept. 21, 1921 to Bert and Maggie Edwards Jenkins. She died Nov. 11, 1990 and is buried in Springdale Cemetery and Mausoleum, Peoria, IL.

Berttene served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps Post Exchange Office, San Diego. She was married to Robert E. Linden. Robert served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps.

George H. Lorenze was born Apr. 26, 1912. He died Feb. 4, 1945 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.

Pvt. Lorenze served in World War II with the U.S. Army 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was KIA in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. Pvt. Lorenze has a cenotaph in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, IA.
