NAMES OF WINNESHIEK COUNTY VOLUNTEERS IN THE CIVIL WAR

Decorah Public Opinion, Decorah, Iowa, Tuesday, April 18, 1939

This list of Winneshiek County Volunteers in the service of the United States in the Civil War, 1861 - 1865, was compiled by William Linnevold, former Decorah postmaster, and as may be imagined, represents a tremendous amount of labor on his part. Public Opinion believes that a large majority of those on this list, have descendants who are now residents of Winneshiek County. We are printing the list in its entirety this week with the thought that a large number of readers will want to clip same and file for future reference - perhaps pasting the list on cardboard in order to preserve it in better shape.

The total alphabetical list of those who served from Winneshiek County.
