Graduation Exercises at the Grand Opera House last Friday Evening of the Class of 1899. Whether It is the superior mental caliber of the class, or more successful efforts by the Instructors, Is not possible for us to determine; but we are quite certain that for general excellence of thought, and superiority of manner and methods, no commencement we have attended In years has excelled the exercises of the graduating class of this year in Valder Normal School, at the Opera House last Friday evening. It may be both causes joined in securing the best results. There was no failure, or suggestion of weakness, by any member of the class; neither was there mediocrity. In every oration there was originality of thought either in the subject-matter or the method of presehtatlon. There was grace in delivery, in nearly every case, and were we particularizing two or three of the graduates could be named as giving exhibitions of genuine oratory. The faculty credit largely to the capabilities of the members, almost to the extent of saying that for ability it is above the average of any previous class. The public will say the polish given added much lustre to the innate value. The stage was beautifully set, and most tastefully decorated, the audience was an attractive one, and large enough to give inspiration to tho orators, aud the Oneota orchestra furnished line music.
