home in Freeport. They became the parents of twins — Arlin Ross and Lois Evangeline — on 11 Jun 1931, but grieved deeply when both died the same day they were born.

In the mid-1930's Art and Inga moved to Ossian, IA where Art was employed by the Figge Auto Garage. Inga became well known in the area as an excellent seamstress.

In 1970 they moved to Waucoma, IA so they could be near Inga’s elderly parents and help care for them. Art worked for his brother-in-law, Bernard Deeny, in his gas and oil business. He also was a volunteer fireman in Waucoma as he had been in Ossian.

On 1 Oct 1978 Art and Inga moved back to Decorah. They were very happy with their apartment in the Oneota Village. Inga died 7 Oct 1985. Art continued to live in the apartment until 28 Feb 1992 when he needed nursing home care. He was admitted to the Oneota Riverview Care Facility where he continues to reside.

Noecker, Billie

Billie Milo Noecker was born to Milo G. and Ida M. (Quandahl) Noecker at the Spring Grove Hospital, Spring Grove, MN. He was raised on the family farm which his parents bought in 1949. Billie and his twin sister Bettie were baptized at home by Pastor Carl Losen and confirmed by Pastor Dennis Hefner at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Locust, IA.

Billie and Bettie attended one-room school houses from kindergarten through 8th grade: Canoe #6, Springwater School, and Canoe #4. Both Bettie and Billie graduated from North Winneshiek High School in May 1968. After graduation Billie farmed with his father. It was during this time that the Vietnam War was escalating. Billie enlisted in the army and served from 9 Jan 1970 until Oct 1971. After the service Billie returned home and began farming with his father again.

On 21 Sep 1974 Billie married Mary L. Stone. They had 3 children: Billy Thomas, Rachel Ann and Sarah Jane. In 1986 Billie and Mary were divorced.

In 1995 Billie started his 9th year as a school bus driver for North Winneshiek Community School. He continues to farm and makes his home on the family farm at 3385 Middle Hesper Road, Decorah.

Noecker, Calvin and Karen (Larson)

Calvin Noecker was born in Decorah, IA to Melvin and Myrtle (Casterton) Noecker. After graduating from Decorah High School Calvin decided to be a jeweler like his father. He attended Gem City College in Quincy, IL where he completed a course in clock and watch repair and also jewelry repair. Upon returning to Decorah he met and married Karen Larson a Luther student from Cleveland, OH.

Chuck Call in San Mateo, CA. Calvin and Karen started their own business and now own and operate Laurel Street Jewelry Store in San Carlos, CA. Karen works at their store and also does the book work for Preat, Inc. The family home is in Redwood City, CA.

Calvin and Karen have 2 children: Erik James and Gretchen Amanda.
