Emma and a daughter who died in infancy.

They farmed just south of Fort Atkinson where Mr. Leibold was also extensively interested in the breeding and raising of stock. Henry served as road supervisor and as treasurer of school district No. 4. Mr. and Mrs. Leibold are both deceased (Anna d. 11 Aug 1931) and are buried in St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

Hugo and Adella Leibold, Fort Atkinson, Iowa

Hugo Leibold, son of Henry and Anna Leibold, married Adella Tupy from the Spillville area. They farmed on the family farm south of Fort Atkinson. They were the parents of 3 children: Henry, Edmund, and Helen. Adella died on 27 May 1941 at the age of 36. she is buried at St. John’s cemetery, Fort Atkinson.

Hugo Bernard Leibold, son of Henry and Anna Leibold, was born on 1 Aug 1896. He lived his entire life on the family farm near Fort Atkinson, IA. He married Margaret Kupka on 7 Sep 1942. Margaret Caroline Kupka, daughter of Charles and Mary (Barta) Kupka, was born 6 July 1922. They were parents of Florence, Kathleen, Judy and Jeanne.

Hugo died on 1 May 1968. Margaret died 11 Apr 1978. both are buried in St. John’s cemetery, Fort Atkinson.

The Leibold family farm has now been in the family for 100 years.

Leibold, Peter and Catherine (Goldbach)

Peter and Catherine Leibold on their Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration.

Peter and Catherine Leibold were among the early settlers south of Fort Atkinson. Peter was born 25 Jul 1830 in Germany. Catherine (Goldbach) Leibold was born 18 Apr 1829 in Germany. Records were unavailable determining the dates they immigrated to America. They settled first in Spring Valley, MN, where they were married, then moved to Fort Atkinson to farm. They became the parents of 8 children: Agatha (Schreffer), Pauline, Mary, Henry, Fred, Frank, Albert and Josephine (Roach). Peter died 5 Jul 1913; Catherine died 16 Aug 1914. They are buried in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Fort Atkinson.
