They had three children: Robert S.; Betty and Charles Patrick.

Charles died in 1961 and is buried at Bonners Ferry. Alma died 14 Feb 1970 at Bonners Ferry.

Charles Patrick King married Dorothy Neumayer. They settled in Coeur d’Alene, ID. They have six children: Kris, Patrick J., Robert, Elizabeth, Kevin and Daniel. Betty King married Charles Sargent. They have one son, Charles K. Sargent.

Dana William Kirby was born in Orange, CA to James and Rose Marie (Lenz) Phillips. Rose Marie was born in Early, IA to Carl William and Madeline Cecilia (Kowler) Lenz. Carl was born 11 Feb 1904. Carl and Madeline were married 10 Jan 1926. Madeline died 20 Aug 1985 and is buried at Spencer, IA. James Phillips was born 3 Jul 1927 and died 26 Feb 1959. James and Rose had 7 children: Michael James; Patricia Jean; Thomas Ray; Kathleen Marie; Mark Allen; Dana William; and Gale Ann. Rose married Raymond Kirby on 18 Dec 1960. Raymond was born 19 Nov 1920. Raymond adopted Rose's seven children in 1961. Raymond and Rose have four children: Francis Anthony; Mary Jo; Faith Ann; and Martin Joseph.

Dana attended Holy Family Catholic School through the 7th grade and the West Monona schools through 8th grade and high school. He graduated May 1974. Dana married Beth Elaine Brooks 12 Jun 1982 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Onawa, IA.

Beth was born at Decorah, IA to William Herbert and Dorothy Mae (Vick, Brown) Brooks. She has one brother, Bruce Duane and one sister, Rebecca "Becky”. (See family histories for William and Dorothy Brooks, Roger and Becky Halvorson and Bruce and Jackie Brooks.) Beth attended Decorah Community Schools and Decorah High School. She attended Waldorf Junior College for two years and graduated from Morningside College, Sioux City, IA in May 1982.

Dana and Beth have three children: Allison Brooke (b at St. Lukes Hospital, Sioux City); Jamie Mae; and Mallory Rose. Jamie and Mallory were born at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, IA. The family lives at 325 Blair Street, Whiting, IA and attends St. John’s Catholic Church at Onawa.

Beth began her teaching career Aug 1982 at the West Monona School District at Onawa. She teaches Multi-Categorical classes, 4-6th grades, and has taught there the past 13 years. Dana owns and operates Kirby’s Market at Whiting. In her free time Dana, Beth and the girls enjoy camping and fishing.

Kirkeby, Christian Hansen and Anne Amundsdtr (Rocksvold)

Christian Hansen Kirkeby was the last brother of Anton Hansen Kirkeby to emigrate to America. He was born 14 Aug 1859 in Hakedalen, Norway. He married Anne Amundsdtr 11 Jan 1888.

She was previously married to Anton Rocksvold, son of Peter Rocksvold of Toten, Norway. She was the daughter of Amund (Olson) and Anne Evenson Elvestuen. She was one of seven children: Erik, Karri, Ole, Ingeborg, Anders and Elina. Her mother died in Norway. The father and children, except Erik, came to America. Anne came
