Jean’s maternal grandparents were Ole Pedersen Lee (1857-1947) from Vagsland, Norway, and Gjertrud Olesdtr. Halsa (1863-1919) from Halsa, Norway. Ole emigrated to America in 1882 and Gjertrud emigrated in the early 1880’s. They were married in DeSmet, SD in 1885. They homesteaded in Walworth, Co., SD near Selby.

LeRoy and Jean are members of Decorah Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway, Luren Singers and Auxiliary, and the Hallinglag. They participate in community organizations. LeRoy is enjoying woodworking and together they enjoy gardening at their home at 107 Meadow View Drive.

LeRoy Carol was born at Spring Grove, MN. His parents were Arlo Roy (1896 - 1982) and Clara (Skorgen) Iverson (1892 - 1981). They farmed north of Newburg.inNewburgTwp., Fillmore Co., MN. They retired to a home in Mabel, MN. LeRoy graduated from Mabel High School in 1947. He attended Winona Business School and was in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Dairy Science in 1958. LeRoy has 2 sisters, Mrs. Edna Anderson, Mabel and Mrs. Gladys Franklin, formerly of Ossian, IA and now living in Cody, WY He has a brother Wallace, now deceased, who farmed with his parents and later was employed at Luther College, Decorah.

Jean Lenore was born in Whapeton, ND. Her parents were Jens Lauritz (1891 -1978) and Julia (Lee) Lovdokken (1903), who farmed in GarborgTwp., Richland Co., ND. In 1943 they moved to Wyndmere, ND where Jens had an Insurance business. Julia taught school in SD prior to her marriage and also taught in a rural school in Wyndmere in 1944. She lives in Wyndmere.

Jean graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1951. She graduated with a B.A. degree in home economics from Concordia College in 1955. She taught high school home economics in Karlstad and Ortonville, MN. Jean attended graduate school for 2 summers at the University of Wisconsin. Jean has a sister, Mrs. Hazel Berg, living in Walnut Creek, CAand a brother, the Rev. Ogden Lee Lovdokken, Springfield, OR.

LeRoy's paternal grandfather was Edward Iverson (1859-1953), Mabel, MN whose father was Christian Iverson (1828-1906) from Rennesoy, Rogaland, Norway. His mother was Bartha Housker (1828-1903) from Finnoy, Rogaland. LeRoy’s paternal grandmother was Martha Hookland Iverson (1860-1932), Mabel. Her father was Sigbjorn Seibert Hookland (1834-1910) from Rogaland, and her mother was Margit Haugen (1833-1924).

LeRoy's maternal grandfather was Peder Skorgen (1843-1926) from Skorgedalen near Adalsness, Norway. He emigrated from Norway in 1858. His maternal grandmother was Gjertrud Lie Skorgen (1854-1949) from the Batnfjorden area near Kristiansund, Norway. She emigrated in the early 1880's.

Jean’s paternal grandparents were Ole Eriksen Lovdokken (1857-1919) and Henrietta Kjerulf Lovdokken

Marvin Clarence Iverson was born 10 Jul 1882 in Winneshiek County, IA the son of Tosten Iverson Hagen and Olena Valle. The name was changed to Iverson. Marvin had 6 brothers and 5 sisters: Eddie (1880-1940); Theodore (1884-1959) married Rose Thomas; Clara (1886-1976) married Olias Erickson; William (1889-1915); Fred (1891-1981) married 1 .Olga Corson, 2. Barbara Borsheim; Mabel (1893-1970) married Albert Kraby; Emma (1895-1895); Emma (1896-1978) married John Fagerlie; Elvin (1899-1976) married Ella Torkelson; Selmer (1902-1913) and Pearl (1904-1973) married 1. W.B. Holiday, 2. Mr. Marin.

Marvin farmed in South Dakota near Brandt in Duel County. He moved back to Decorah in 1926. Marvin married Caroline Kjenstad in SD. Caroline died in 1909 and is buried at Brandt, SD. Marvin and Caroline had 2 children: Violet of Clear Lake, SD (m. 1. Louis Holmberg, 2. Arnold Paulson) and Leonard of Decorah, (m. 1. Lillian Severson, 2. Anna Rohm, d. 1988).

Marvin married Martha Anna Solem in SD. Marvin and Martha had 8 children: Thelma (Mrs. Milford Sheldahl) Fargo, ND; Ruth (Mrs. Leonard Severson) Decorah; Marie (Mrs. Raymond Stortz) San Jose, CA; Irvin, Decorah, (m. Beatrice Ellingson) d. 1966; Walter (m. Dorothy Gjetley) Ft. Collins, CO. d. 1989; Evelyn (Mrs. Gilbert Ellingson)
