Coletta also had 11 grandchildren: James Shugrue; Mary Spicer Brumm; Patti Spicer Heidt; Joseph Spicer, Jr.; Marti Spicer Livinghouse; Larry Bolding; Janet Bolding Wineman; Nancy Bolding Luecht; Michael Kalish; James Hogan IV and Justin Hogan. In 1995 there were 12 greatgrandchildren.

Coletta enjoyed handiwork and her cooking and baking are vividly recalled by her family. She enjoyed going visiting in the car and having people visit in return. Coletta was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Rosary society. She died 29 Mar 1964 in Decorah.

James II was born 12 Jun 1890 in Decorah, the son of Patrick and Anna (Ward) Hogan. According to local papers his grandfather, James Hogan I, was employed by the city of Decorah from 1870-1872. His maternal uncles and aunts originally of the Decorah area included William, Thomas and Patrick Ward, Mary Ward McShane and Catherine (Sister Laurentina). A paternal aunt was Margaret Hogan Malli.

James Hogan had one brother, John, who died in infancy. James grew up in Decorah and studied at Valder’s Business College. He was a salesman in Davenport, IA and Green Bay, Wl before returning to Decorah. He married Coletta E. Meyer on 8 Oct 1919 in Quincy, IL. They had 6 children: Anne, Catherine, Patricia, Shirley, James and a son who died in infancy.

James was a Mess Sergeant in WWI. He was employed as a salesman for the Dubuque Telegraph Herald while raising his family in Decorah. He enjoyed fishing and loved sports of all kinds. He played on a baseball team in town. James II died 13 Jul 1950 in Decorah.

Ann Marie Powers was the sixth child of Bertha and Edward Powers born 27 Aug 1914 at Ossian, IA. After graduating from DeSales High School, Ossian in 1931, she joined her sister in Pontiac, Ml where she was employed by General Motors. Ann met her husband there and married Francis Carl Hoisington. Ann died at age 59 on 27 Jan 1974. Carl died 19 Jul 1989. They are buried in Pontiac, Ml.

They had 3 children: Dale, Penny and Jean. Dale and his wife Patricia (Clark) have 3 children: Jeffry, Michael and Patrick. They live in Pontiac. Penny married Glenn R. Watson and they live in Oxford, Ml. They have 3 children: Tracy Lynn, Lisa Marie and Scott Christopher. Jean married Joseph E. Przgoda and live in Clarkston, Ml. They have 3 children: Ryan, Deanna and Stephanie.
