1946 and had 2 children: Carole and Valerie. Carole (Christine) Anne was born in Long Island, NY. Valerie Jean Miraglia was born in NY She has a boy and a girl and lives in Anchorage, AK. Roger died 28 Dec 1994. Marjorie lives in Charlottesville, VA.

Gerald Owen was born in LeRoy. He worked on the Ray Sersland farm in Washington Prairie Twp. for many years before joining the Navy in 1950. He was in the Navy for 31 years serving in the Korean and Viet Nam Wars. He had been aboard several ships during that time. While serving in the States he was stationed in CA, WA, GA, Great Lakes, AK, FL and HI. In 1952 he married (I). Darlene Witt. They had 4 children: Gary, Mark, Jeffrey and Heidi. They have 9 grandchildren. Gerald and Darlene were divorced in 1981.

Raymond Spencer worked for the 7-up Company for many years and m/1 Yvonne Roney in 1954. They divorced in 1959. He m/2 Theola Mae Bixby, in Perham, MN. They had three children: Pamela Rae; Terry Jean (both born in Chicago, IL) and Karen Lee in Decorah. They have 6 grandchildren.

Raymond was killed on 5 Jun 1981 while returning from a short trip to Mexico in a small plane which crashed in a heavily wooded area around Eagletown, OK. The wreckage wasn’t discovered until 18 Jul 1981.

On 3 Dec 1982 Gerald and Theola were united in marriage. They live in Decorah and own and operate the “old” Winneshiek Hotel (apts).

Delores Lavonne was born 14 Jan 1934 in Decorah and died 12 Jun 1950 in a car accident west of town on the Ridgeway road.

V. Curtis Edaar m/1 Sharon Novotny; m/2 Sharon Johnson. They had one child: Norman Curtis . He m/3 Barbara (Engen) Tollefsrud. She had 3 children by a previous marriage. Curtis was in the Airforce. He lives in Bensenville, IL.

Harlan Ronald was born in Decorah. “Ron” married Shirley Kornmeyer 3 Dec 1960 and they have 2 children: Michelle Theresa and Rochelle Marie. They have 5 grandchildren. Ron enlisted in the US Navy for 4 years. He and Shirley live in Wooddale, IL. They own and operate a Heating & Refrigeration business.

Clayton Lee m/1 Ruth Ann Moen. They had one child: Brian Lee. He m/2 Dianna Y Marshall born 8 Jul 1947 and died 31 May 1987. They had 4children: Clayton II, Lori Ann; Deanna and Amy Marie. They have 4 grandchildren. Clayton works at the Chrysler Corp. in Belvidere, IL.

Orville Kenneth  m/1 Ruth Ann Moen (div). They had 3 children: Suzanne Renee, Orville Kenneth, Jr. and Charles John. They have 6 grandchildren. They all live in the Dubuque area. Ken works at the Pepsi Cola Co.

Dale Allen married Dawn Marie Wiltgen from Harmony, MN. They have 3 children: Daniel Allen, Eric Owen and Adam Wade. Dale was in the U.S. Navy for 4 years and now works at the Chrysler Corp. in Belvidere.

Roy Dean m/1 Bonnie Wangen. They had 2 children: Teresa Lynn  and Alex Dean. They divorced. He m/2 Sherrie Wienck. They live in the Belvidere area and Roy works at the Chrysler Corp.

Gjermund Thomas Helmer Haugen was born 6 May 1894 near Decorah the son of Thomas G. Haugen (b. 16 May 1865) near Decorah and Emma Helgeson (b. 2 Nov 1871) in Green Bay, Wl. Thomas and Emma were married 5 Feb 1891 at Luther College. They are buried at Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.

Gjermund’s grandparents were lermund (Gjermund) Olson HJELLE-HAUGEN who was born 11 Feb 1824 in Vestre Slidre, Dist. of Valdres, Co. of Oppland, Norway. His wife Marit (Mary) Evensdtr. Uhlen was born 9 Aug 1821 at Vestre Slidre, Oppland, Norway. They were married in 1853 at Oppland, Norway. They are buried at Washington Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.
