Campbell, Rosemarie Reynolds -
Former Lenox, IA, resident Rosemarie Campbell, 75, of Cainsville, MO, died
Saturday, December 20, 2008, after battling pancreatic cancer. The funeral
will be held Friday, December 26, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1308
East Main Street, Princeton, MO, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m.
at West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox, IA.
Rosemarie was born December 6, 1933, the daughter of Mildred and Russell
Reynolds. She graduated from high school in Lenox where she met the love of
her life, Larry Campbell. They were married July 13, 1952, and shortly
thereafter moved to the Des Moines, IA, area where she spent time loving
and caring for her family and friends.
She raised registered Suffolk sheep, and she and her family traveled to
various fairs where her livestock received grand champion awards. She
was also part of a singing group, the Sweet Adelines, who performed in several
different states.
Rosemarie and Larry and their three daughters moved to Cainsville in February
1972 where she and her husband raised sheep, cattle and horses. In 1983 she
began another successful venture raising a variety of registered dogs.
With profound determination, she mastered the profession as evidenced by
the famous singers, writers and actors who asked specifically for her dogs.
She was known for the Rosemarie Campbell Line in Manhattan, NY.
She loved life and enjoyed nurturing people, animals and nature. She was
best known for her beautiful, beaming smile and the touch of a hand that
could help anyone at any time. She was very involved with her family and
extended families. She loved Christmastime when giving, entertaining and
sending messages gave her great joy.
Rosemarie mastered everything she tried-researching genealogy, painting,
making porcelain dolls and sewing beautiful quilts. She could grow and cook
anything. She loved fishing with her grandchildren, going on trail rides,
and riding in parades with her husband in their horse and buggies.
She loved the time she spent with her family at picnics and on hayrides, and
during her travels to Georgia to visit nieces and nephews, to New York and
to Alaska. Her passion was to make everyone feel loved and cherished. Many
children and other people who were not a part of her immediate family were
made a part of her life because of her ability to show love, affection and
acceptance. She was very involved with the Zion Baptist Church and its
members. She enjoyed performing in Christmas programs and participating
in Bible study.
Rosemarie will be remembered as an amazing woman whose beauty, charm
and intelligence enhanced the lives of all who had the opportunity to know her.
She had an amazing number of attributes and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers- Gordon and Russell
Gene Reynolds; and a sister-in-law Betty Reynolds.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Larry, of the Home; three daughters-
Jill Marie Burdg and husband Harry of Hamilton, MO, Laura Lou Peery and husband
Kent of Osage Beach, MO, and Jacqueline Graham and husband Bill of Kellogg, IA;
an aunt, Mary Stoner; eight grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 8 great-
grandchildren, 7 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service in
Princeton, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to
Zion Baptist Church, R.R.I, Cainsville, MO 64632.

Collings, Jo Ann Kabel -
Jo Ann Collings, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died December 23, 2008 at the Dennis
and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long and
courageous fight with cancer. A private family celebration of life service was
held at the Marion Christian Church with interment at Cedar Memorial
Park Cemetery.
Immediate family survivors are Susan Kosek (Ernest), Cody Collings, Jody
Pence, all of Cedar Rapids.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chad Pence (Julie), Dustin Pence
(Andrea), Brook Adkins (Robert), Jennifer Rinas (Joshua), Angela Kosek,
and the joys of her five, five great-grandchildren, Victoria and Alanna
Adkins, Eleanor and Margaret Rinas and Madalyn Pence. She also leaves
behind an extended family; a special cousin, Jan Mawle of Osage Beach,
Mo. and a treasure of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Frank H.
Collings, OD, her parents, Earl D. Kabelo and Gertie Ellen Kabel, and a
brother, Dr. Richard E. Kabel.
Jo Ann was born to Earl D. Kabel and Gertie E. Kabel on October 15, 1927
in Savannah, Mo. Jo Ann graduated from high school in Lenox, Iowa in 1945.
While growing up in Lenox, she excelled in vocal music, violin and the piccolo.
Jo Ann won many awards for her instrumental music and vocal abilities. She
also loved basketball and was an All-State guard. She then attended Drake
University to study music.
It was during this time that she met her husband, Frank H. Collings, with
whom she shared 60 years of marriage and three children. She loved the Lord,
her family, pets, music, and the Hawkeyes.

Hamilton, Karen (Joyce) VanOrsdel Andrew -
Joyce Van Orsdel Andrew Hamilton, 70, of Paris, Texas, died November 26,
2008 at her residence following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Starlett Home was in charge of cremation arrangements.
Karen Joyce was born November 6, 1938, the daughter of William Eugene
and Mabel Luanna Coffey Van Orsdel.
She was a graduate of Lenox High School with the Class of 1957. She was
married to Jerry. B. Andrew of Grand River, Iowa September 1, 1959 in
Des Moines. They farmed near Indianola, Iowa, then moved to Texas where
she worked for J.C. Penney Company and were later divorced. She later
married Jim Hamilton.
Joyce is survived by daughter, Jackie Jamar and husband, Bart of Parish,
Texas, and son, Mike Andrew of Euless, a suburb of Dallas; a granddaughter,
Mollie Jamar and grandson, Will Jamar, both of Parish. She is also survived
by her mother, Mabel Van Orsdel and two sisters, Marlene Buchanan and
husband, Richard, and Jeanie Geisler, all of Boise, Idaho.
Preceding her in death were her father, Eugene Van Orsdel and brother-
in-law, K. Mel Geisler.

Huffman, Virginia O Ables -
Virginia O. (Abies) Huffman, 85, a resident of Leavenworth for the last 31 years,
passed away Monday, December 8, 2008, at Cashmere, WA. She was born on April 5,
1923, to George and Maude Abies in Popejoy, IA. She attended school in Clearfield,
IA, where she received her early education graduating in 1940. Virginia attended
Maryville, MO State Teacher's College, where she received her Teacher's Certificate.
Virginia then taught in Iowa for four years. On September 12, 1944, she married Mac
Huffman in Corpus Christie, TX, where he graduated from the Naval Air Station as
a pilot. They lived in Florida and California, while he received additional training.
In 1945, after Mac was transferred overseas, Virginia moved to Washington, where
she taught Elementary School. After three years, Virginia gave up teaching to raise
her children, Brad and Shelley. Virginia was very active in Civic Affairs, joining
the Pamela Asmondson Orthopedic Guild and the P.T. A. She served as secretary
of the Silver Spray Rebecca's, was a member of the Randle Garden Club, the
Ladies' Social Club, and the United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included
gardening, landscaping, sewing, knitting, crocheting, home decorating, and music.
Mac and Virginia moved to Leavenworth in 1977, where she was employed in the
business office, of the Leavenworth Fruit Company. After retiring in 1988, her
time was spend volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce, the blood bank, and
Osborn Elementary School. Traveling in the RV was a pleasant pastime, spending
winters in Arizona and visiting friends and family in the mid-west and points
in-between.
She is survived by her husband, Mac Huffman of Leavenworth; son, Brad Huffman
of Gig Harbor and Trece Edwarsen and family of Gig Harbor; daughter and
son-in-law, Shelley and Mark Kittock of Olympia; brother Duane Abies
of Vancouver, WA; and a granddaughter, Haley Huffman of Gig Harbor.
A Memorial Service of Commemoration to Celebrate the Life of Virginia O.
Huffman will be held on Friday, : December 12, 2008 at, 1:00 PM at Ward's
Wuneral Chapel in Leavenworth, with Rev: Roger Hudson officiating. Private
Family Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Tahoma National Cemetery
in Kent. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wenatchee Valley
Humane Society or the Central Washington Hospital Hospice Fund at 933

Jones, Janet M Fandel -
Funeral services for Janet M. Jones, (Fandel) age 62, died Monday, January 5, 2009
in Eau Clair, Wisconsin. Janet formerly of Bedford moved to Eau Claire in September
2008 to be near her family. Janet is now reunited with her late husband Garry who
passed away at Taylor Hospice, Des Moines, Iowa on June 1, 2008. Services will be
held Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Bedford at 11:00
a.m. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9:30 until service time at 11:00.
Interment will be held in the Washington Cemetery in Gravity. Instead of flowers

Janet was born August 2, 1946 in the town of Ladysmith, Rusk County, daughter
of Lee and Agnes Fandel. Janet attended Our Lady of Sorrows Grade School,
Servile High School, and graduated from Mount Senario College in Ladysmith.
Janet was united in marriage to Gerald "Garry" Dean Jones July 1, 1977. Janet
had a daughter Lisa.
Janet and Garry owned and operated the Skylark Cafe in Bedford Iowa 1981-
June 2008. Janet will be remembered for all the stories and laughter she shared
with others, her unselfish dedication and concern for those around her, and the
gift of her friendship.
Her husband and parents preceded her in death.
Janet is survived by her daughter Lisa and husband Troy Gould, two grandchildren
Jordan and Alexis, brother Ray and wife Mary, Brother Robert Fandel OSM,
sisters Jean and Kathy, nieces Jennifer, Renee, Sharon, nephews Craig and
Tyler and other relatives.
Although Janet will be greatly missed,her love and inspiration will live on
through her family.

Minnick, Hal D -
Mediapolis - Hal D. Minnick, 64, of Morton, Ill., formerly of Mediapolis,
Iowa, died at 9:10 p.m. Friday, Jan.2, 2009, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Creston, Iowa, to Homer and Leona (Sturms)
Minnick. He married Karen Stoaks on July 25, 1963, in Lenox, Iowa.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Minnick, of Morton; one daughter, Kayla
Minnick Dahms (Dan) of Morton; two grandchildren, Kolton Dahms and
Kelsi Dahms; his mother, Leona Minnick, of Lenox, Iowa; and two sisters,
Karen Swiger of Lomita, Calif., and Connie Booth of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kory, and his father.
A Veterinarian for 33 years, Hal was a partner with the Mediapolis
Veterinary Clinic.
He was a member of Morton United Methodist Church.
He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church
in Mediapolis.
Cremation will be accorded. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis,
with Rev. Jeff Kodis officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at Kossuth
Cemetery in Mediapolis. Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis
is handling arrangements.

Moore, Claris Belle Jones -
Funeral services for Claris Moore, age 94 of Bedford, who died on Wednesday,
December 31, 2008 at Bedford Nursing and Rehab Center were held on Saturday,
January 3, 2009 at the Ritchie Funeral Home in Bedford. Interment was held
in the Washington Cemetery in Gravity. Memorials can be given to honor her to
the Bedford Meal Site. Memories can be shared with the family on our website

Claris Belle (Jones) Moore spent a lifetime near and in Gravity, Iowa. She was
born to Ellsworth and Edith Mabel (Huss) Jones on August 13, 1914. She
attended Antioch Grade School, and was graduated from Gravity High School
in 1932 as valedictorian of her class.
She married Darrell Moore on March 4, 1936. To this union was born four children.
Norma Jean, John Darrell, Janice Kay, and Jane Ann.
She cooked, cleaned, gardened and sewed with great skill, all to care for her
family. She loved making baby quilts for gifts. She was an avid reader and
enjoyed social events of Ladies' Aid, Study Club, canasta group, and TOPS.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for nearly 50 years.
Claris was a true homemaker, but had also been a cook at the Gravity Elementary
School. She also worked at Tot'n Teen and later at the Places Store in Bedford
where she retired after serving the community for many years. Claris became a
Christian as a child and attended Sunday school and church at the Gravity
Christian Church.
Left to miss her caring and her humor are her children and spouses-Norma Jean
and Roger Alexander of Port de Paix, Haiti, John Moore and Marian of Boone,
Iowa, Janice and Paul Lemert of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Jane and Wayne Calfee of
Gravity, Iowa, two sisters, Adra Libby of Belleville, Illinois, and Reva Kelley of
Clearmont, Missouri, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 5 great great
grandchildren. Other family includes Jolene and Kenny Gonnerman, Judy Moore,
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Moore, parents, one brother,
Earl Jones, one sister, Verla Horswell, and one grandson, Jaye Moore.

Moore, Clark E (Bud) -
Clark E. "Bud" Moore, Jr. of Des Moines died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at
Marshalltown Medical Center. He was formerly of Lenox as a young boy.
He was born April 23, 1933 to Clark and Ruth (Toland) Moore. He is a
veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army Reserve. Bud worked at the
Des Moines U.S. Post Office for 30 years as a postal clerk. He was an avid
camper.
Bud is survived by his wife, Helen of 51 years, daughter Sheryl (Lary) Norlin,
sons Michael (Lori) Moore and Kelly (Marsha) Moore, sisters Vivian (Mel)
Strait, Delores (Bill) Carter and Betty (Chas.) Samo.; six grandchildren
and one great grandson; one niece and four nephews; other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Roe, Virginia (Gini) Ann Cox -
Gini Roe, 72, of Le Mars passed away suddenly Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at her
home.
Virginia "Gini" Ann Cox was born August 14, 1936 to Ralph and Maude (Dunn)
Cox. Gini was raised on a farm in Adams County, Iowa. She attended country
school and later graduated from Lenox High School, Lenox, Iowa in 1954.
She furthered her education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville,
Mo. Gini was united in marriage in Lenox, Iowa to Gene Roe on September 4, 1955.
They were the proud parents of three daughters, Terri, Merri, and Lori. Gene
had worked for Farm Services/Growmark for many years. The family had lived in
Council Bluffs, Iowa, Princeton, Wisc. and Grinnell, Iowa. Gini, Gene, and their
daughters moved to LeMars in 1973.
Gini enjoyed making a home for her family. In later years, she enjoyed working
with her daughter Lori at Witzend in Le Mars. Gini was a very artistic and
talented person. She loved to work in her yard creating a Utopia for all of
God's creatures. She enjoyed her flower gardens and watching the birds,
squirrels, and rabbits enjoying sanctuary in her yard. Gini also enjoyed
decorating her home with the changing seasons. She was able to share her
talents of drawing with her grandchildren as they grew up. Her family was
her main priority in life. She loved to have her daughters and their
families for her favorite times of the year, Christmas, Easter, and summer
family visits when her gardens were in full bloom.
Gini is survived by two daughters, Terri Henderson and
her husband Kirk of Waterloo, Iowa, and Lori Schrank and her
husband Steve of Danbury, Iowa; a son-in-law, Tom McCrea
of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren: Heidi (Chris) Wilson,
Kent McCrea, Tory McCrea, Lexi Schrank, Jennifer Schrank,
Sara Schrank and Brett Schrank; four great grandchildren; Julia
Wilson, Jon Wilson, Trenton Segebart, and Emma Segebart;
a sister, Peggy Osborne and her husband Richard; a brother,
John Cox and his wife Marjorie; a brother-in-law, Dean Roe
of Stuart, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ridgley of Miami,
Fla. And Dorie Key and her husband Reldon of Lenox, Iowa;
several nieces and nephews.
Gini was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, the love
of her life on August 18, 1993; a daughter, Merri McCrea on
April 17, 2003; and her parents, Ralph and Maude (Dunn) Cox.
