Brown, Elizabeth Anne Beach Nook -

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Brown were held Friday, December 6, 1996 at the Lenox Presbyterian Church. Rev. Tim Maxa officiated the services with Roberta Lockhart as organist and Raelene and Denis Best as vocalists.

Casket Bearers were Jim Rice, Roger James, Jeff Reed, Lynn Christensen, Mike Halligan and Clark Bolinger.

Honorary Bearers were Ron Fulk, Dale Purdum, Dave Ferris, Doug Horton, Stan Curtis, Bob Halligan, Reldon Huntington, George Reynolds, Wayne Haidsiak, Dennis Nelson, Winston Tyler, and John Borland.

Elizabeth Anne Brown was born on May 29, 1932, the daughter of Clifford S. and Eula Elizabeth Page Beach, at

the family farm in Taylor County and entered into rest at her home on December 3, 1996 at the age of 64 years, 6

months and 26 days.

She grew up on Clearview Stock Farm riding horses, helping with farm chores, going to country school and exploring in the hills. She lost her father in 1945 at the age of 12, and in 1946 she moved to 402 East Temple in Lenox with her mother and her sister.

She played basketball for the Lenox Tigerettes and was a proud member of the class of 1949. Following graduation, she worked in Des Moines for Equitable Insurance for a year and was on the basketball team there.

Elizabeth was united in marriage with Clifford A. Nook on April 29, 1950, at the Lenox Methodist Church. They

lived on farms located west of Lenox. To this union were born two children; Jeanine Marie and Gregory Ernest Nook.

In 1970 she lost her mother and in 1971, she moved with her family back to the house at 402 East Temple.

Liz and Cliff were divorced in 1981.

Throughout these years she worked in many businesses on Main Street.

In 1967, natural gas was brought to Lenox and she went to work for NGPL.

When the City bought the gas company in 1976, they were fortunate enough to get Liz as the City Clerk. She

served in that capacity until 1990, and for the past 6 years had continued to work for the City of Lenox on a part time basis.

Liz and Raymond C. Brown were married on February 12, 1982, in Clearmont, Mo.

Surviving to honor her memory are her loving husband, Raymond C. Brown of Lenox; her children, Jeanine (Tom) Lynam of Lenox and Gregory (Becky) Nook of Kansas City, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; step-children Pam Brown, Butch (Janie) Brown of Lenox and Zella (Mark) Zerger of Ft. Bennington, Ga.; brother Walter (Mary) Beach of Dallas, Texas; sisters Josephine (Julian) Walter of Lenox and Marjorie (Walt) Steinke of Spokane, Wash.; sister-in-laws Iolene Brewster of Visilia, Calif., Iona Spartz of Marion, Iowa, Wanda Beach of Freeport, Fla., Pat Beach of Lenox, Shirley (Dick) Rainforth of New Market, Phyllis Hood of Cameron, Mo., Elaine (Roger) Claiser of Des Moines, and Arlene Steddom of Clarinda; Brother-in-laws Dwight (Shirley) Nook of Lenox, Jerold (Sandy) Nook of Edgewood, Maryland, and Glen (Shirley) Nook of Newton as well as many very special nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 5 brothers; and a sister.

Interment was in the East Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Memorials are in her name.

Bruington, Gertrude Belle Hale -

Gertrude Belle Bruington was born May 4, 1915, at Lenox, Iowa, one of three children of Wayne Hale and

Fern (Page) Hale. She graduated from school in Lenox.

Gertrude spent her early life in the Lenox area. In her young adulthood, she travelled with her parents where they

worked with the carnival. The family moved to Kansas City in 1950, where she worked as a cosmetician for Katz Stores and J.C. Penney's. They returned to Lenox in the early 1970's.

Gertrude was a member of the Methodist Church.

She died December 14, 1996, at the Clearview Home in Clearfield at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 10 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; Lyle and Tubby.

Those surviving are husband Ted of Lenox, a son Gordon "Skip" Bruington and his wife Mardoe of Lenox, son

Wayne Dale Bruington and his wife Julie of Kansas City, Missouri, and a daughter Gloria Jean Arnone and her

husband Tony of Florida; an aunt Hazel Westberry of Ellaire, Texas, a nephew David Hale of Lenox; 4 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 17 at the Lenox United Methodist Church with Pastor Audrey

Westendorf officiating. Burial was in the West Fairview cemetery. Visitation was held Monday evening at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Lenox.

Serving as pallbearers were Brent Bruington, Reldon Huntington, Alvin Brown, Vernal Thompson, Michael Copeland and Fred Helm.

Kathryn Wilson as organist provided the hymns, "How Great Thou Art", "In the Garden" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Heikkinen,Opal Geneva Calvin Pantry -

Opal Geneva Heikkinen was born July 25, 1914, in Chadwick, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Calvin and Laura (Lowe)

Calvin. She attended school through the 8th grade in country schools and the attended Lenox High School.

In September of 1934, Opal was married to Harrison Pantry in Lenox. To this union was born three children:

Juanita, Bud and Sharon.

In the early 1960's, Opal was married to Ted Heikkinen in Rock Island, Illinois..

Opal lived in Missouri until 1925. At that time, she moved with her family to Lenox where she continued to live for

many years. She most recently resided in Johnston, Iowa.

While in the area, Opal worked as a waitress for many years. She also worked as a housekeeper at the Lenox

Hotel.

She was a member of the Stringtown Church.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted, a daughter Phyllis Pantry, a brother Hudson Calvin and a

granddaughter Pamela Pantry.

She is survived by a daughter Juanita Olney and her husband Allan of Des Moines, Iowa, a son Bud Pantry and his wife Diana of

Lancaster, Missouri, and a daughter Sharon Parker and her husband Kenneth of Humboldt, Iowa; seven grandchildren;19 great greatgrandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; brothers Willard (Gabby) Calvin and wife Betty of Jasper, Missouri, Paul and wife Vada Calvin of Lenox, James (Speck) and wife Alberta Calvin of Lenox, and Jack and wife Linda Calvin of Baxter, Iowa; sisters Helen Case and Juanita Clark, both of Lenox as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Lenox with Rev. Elmer West officiating. Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home.

Those serving as pallbearers were Ted Parker, Kirk Parker, Ron Pantry, Greg Pantry, Jerry Calvin and Phil Lowry. Kathryn Wilson as

organist and Marilyn Beck and Billie Jean Barker as vocalists provided, "Going Down the Valley", "Lonesome Valley" and "Silver Wings".

A memorial fund has been established in Opal's name.

Helm, Hildred Berene Soma -

Funeral Services for Hildred Helm were held Wednesday, October 16, 1996 at the Lenox Christian Church. Officiating the services was Rev. Dena Woldruff.

Music was provided by Jan Bryant, organist and Shirley Riley, soloist.

Casket Bearers were Win Tyler, C.B. Adams, Mike Halligan, Paul Parkhurst, Larry Schrader, and G.K. Howland.

Honorary Bearers were Bud Bryant, Leonard Scroggins, Bob Halligan, Ralph Rogers and George Reynolds.

Hildred Berene Helm was born September 4, 1915 the daughter of Fred and Ruby Scott Soma in Bedford, Iowa and entered into rest at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on October 11, 1996 at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 7 days.

She attended school in Clearfield, Iowa and Scottsbluff, Nebraska. On November 16, 1934 she was united in marriage with Orin

Helm in Bedford, Iowa. She has cooked in the Bedford and Lenox area since 1952. She cooked at the Lenox grade school for over 10 years. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Cubs. She also enjoyed music, sewing and reading. She was a member of the Navy Mothers and the Lenox Christian Church.

Surviving to honor her memory are her six children: Marsha (husband Jerry) Martin of Lenox; Fred (Lorraine) Helm of Stanberry,

Missouri; Sandra (Lawrence) Wells of Melborne Beach, Florida; Reed (Joan) Helm of Lenox; John (Joan) Helm of Savannah, Missouri; and Jim (Sandra) Helm of Lenox; 27 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Edythe Hall of Mari Posa, California and Vernelle French of Irondale, Missouri; sister-in-laws Hazel (Duane) Burch of Kansas City, Missouri and Mitzi Soma of Reno, Nevada; and brother-in-laws Floyd Petty of Webb City, Missouri and James Towe of Hawthorne, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her death are her parents, her husband Orin Helm in 1959, brothers Robert and Jack Soma; sisters Helen Petty and Harriet

Towe and two nephews.

Memorials were directed to the Lenox Christian Church or the Lenox Christmas Lights.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Bedford. Larkin and Shelley Funeral Homes was in charge of the arrangements.

Horton, Clyde Carroll (Pete) -

Clyde Carroll Horton "Pete", the second son of Clyde William and Mabel Moore Horton was born May 13, 1912, near Conway, Iowa and

passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, December 28, 1996.

On October 22, 1931, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Ferguson and to this union were born two children, Ruth and Jerry.

Pete was engaged in farming in 1931 and due to cinch bugs and drought was forced to sell out during the depression years. In 1933 they

went to Washington state and worked on a ranch and construction. In 1936 the family moved back to Iowa where he worked at various

jobs for as little as 50 cents a day. In 1949 he became custodian and school bus driver for the Clearfield School.

In 1961 they applied for work at Glenwood State Hospital School. While working there they did research on Coed living for young adults.

They worked one year with juvenile delinquents before retiring.

Following retirement they traveled and spent the winters fishing in Texas, he was a member of the Clearfield Lions Club and Clearfield Methodist Church. In 1982 he married Irene Hinshaw.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth, in 1973, son-in-law, Virgil Brown in 1996, his wife Marj of 50 years in 1981, wife Irene in 1998, brother Bill Horton and his parents.

Survivors include his son Jerry (Karen) Horton of Richland, Iowa, grandchildren; Gary (Sara) Horton of Coralville, Iowa; Robert Horton

of Fairfield, Iowa; Jackie (Bruce) Bierma of Mauston, Wisconsin; Patricia (Chris) Garvey of Omaha, Nebraska; Kelly (Zeny) Brown of San

Diego, California; Brian (Debbie) Brown of New Virginia, Iowa. Great grandchildren: Erika and Shannon Bierma, Christopher Garvey, Jeremy and Jenna Brown. His dear friend and companion Grace Brown. Sisters Helen Lou Duey of Clearfield, Iowa, Isabel Trost of

Lenox, Iowa, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services were held Tuesday December 31, 1996 at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield, Iowa with Rev. Al Rusk officiating. Music was by Patty Parrish and Kathy Nelson. Casket bearers were Chris Garvey, Bruce Bierma, Brian Brown, Gary Horton, Robert Horton, and Jerry Fletchall. Honorary Pall Bearers were Kelly Brown, Eldon Still, Jerry Ewalt, and Johnny Duey. Burial was at the Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield, Iowa.

House, Ruth Goldie Woodard -

Ruth Goldie House was born December 3, 1907 in Decatur County, Iowa, one of six children of Amos Porter

Woodard and R. Sully (Pray)Woodard. Ruth attended school in Decatur County as a child.

She spent her youth in Decatur County. After her marriage to Fred Paul House on July 23, 1924, in Creston,

they made their residence between Lenox and Clearfield until 1944, when they moved to Lenox.

She worked at the Dry Cleaners in Lenox and at the Super Valu Store. After that, she worked at the Economy 5

& 10 for 33 years until her retirement.

Ruth was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church as well as the Altar Society.

Ruth died December 9, 1996 at the Lenox Care Center at the age of 89 years, 6 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, son Frances, a greatgranddaughter Kori Deacon,

brothers Everett and Arthur Woodard, and sisters Maude McCarl, Pearl South and Marjorie Steen.

Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter-in-law Juanita Clark of Lenox; a grandson Stephen House of

Des Moines; a granddaughter Deborah Deacon of St. Paul, Minnesota; five greatgrandchildren; several nieces

and nephews, as well as other friends who will always remember her.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, December 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with

Father Dan Siepker as celebrant. Burial was in the East Fairview Cemetery. A Wake Service was held

Wednesday evening at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Lenox.

Serving as pallbearers were Mike Halligan, Mike Cheese, Aaron Deacon, James Rychnovsky, Bill Sawyer and

Norbert Bradley. Bonnie Halligan as organist and Florence Robinson as Cantor provided the musical selections,

"Be Not Afraid", "We Will Rise Again" and "Here I Am Lord". Mary Weese was the Lector.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patricks Catholic Church.

Hughes, Bettye Jo -

Bettye Jo Hughes of Norwalk died of cancer October 29th at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services were held November 1, at Norwalk United Methodist Church with burial in the Norwalk cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Bedford and lived in Lenox from 1954 to 1968.

Surviving are her husband Larry; a son Larry Hill and two daughters Cheri Atherton and Kendra Hughes all of Norwalk;

11 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Leighton, Nellie Edna Fitzgerald Warner -

Nellie Edna Leighton was born September 25, 1901, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Edna was one of five children

of Elzy Edwin Fitzgerald and Laura Ethel (Williams) Fitzgerald. Edna attended country school in Ringgold County.

Edna moved with her family to Iowa at the age of 4. When she was 11, they moved to the Ellston area. She lived

in the Ringgold and Taylor County Areas for the rest of her life.

On February 23, 1922, Edna was united in marriage to Glen Warner. They had two daughters: Donnella and Doris

and one son, Dale.

On April 2, 1944 she married Merrill Leighton in Lenox, Iowa.

During the 1940's Edna was a part owner of the White Way Cafe in Lenox. She worked at the Clarinda Institute

from 1956 to 1957. From 1959 to 1960 she worked at the Glenwood State Hospital. Edna then worked at

the Lenox Care Center for four years during the 1960's.

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Corning and the American Legion Auxiliary in Lenox.

Edna died November 30, 1996 at Greater Community Hospital in Creston at the age of 95 years, 2 months, 5 days.

Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, three brothers, one sister and one grandson.

She is survived by her daughters: Donnella Soloman of Green Valley, Arizona, and Doris Johnston of Lenox, her

son and daughter-in-law Dale and Bonnie Warner of Knoxville, Iowa; six grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren;

as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Lenox, with Pastor

Paul Scharf of the Grace Baptist Church in Corning, officiating. Burial was in the West Fairview Cemetery in

Lenox.

Serving as pallbearers were Paul Chandler, Brad Johnston, Lance Johnston, Harold Walter, Marvin Reed, Leo Morgan and Ron

Fitzgerald.

Jan Bryant as organist provided the musical selections.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Baptist Church.

Marckmann, Ernest Louie -

Services for Ernest Marckmann were held Monday, November 11 at the Stringtown Church with Rev. Roy Cook officiating.

Music was provided by Jean Schmoll as organist and Kay Sanders as vocalist.

Casket Bearers were Curtis Dukes, Rodney Dukes, Dennis Dukes, Dick VanGelder, Vernon Millsap, Jim Marckmann, Charles

Millsap and Marlin Marckmann.

Ernest Louie Marckmann was born May 1, 1907 the son of Herman D. and Martha Diers Marckmann in Fontanelle, Iowa and

entered into rest on November 8, 1996 at the Lenox Care Center at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 7 days.

He was raised in Fontanelle where he attended rural school. He was confirmed and baptized in the Lutheran Church on April

16, 1922. On December 11, 1928 he was united in marriage with Minnie Winter in Des Moines, Iowa. Ernest began farming in

1929 north of Richland Center.

He later moved to Kent where he farmed from 1931 to 1971 and ran the General Store in Kent from 1971 to 1975. He later

retired in 1979 in Kent.

Surviving to honor his memory are his loving wife Minnie Marckmann of Kent; son John (Sandy) Marckmann of Kent; daughter Wilma (Jim) Sevier of Kent; 2 brothers Henry (Velma) of Greenfield and Leo of Adair; 10 grandchildren; Curtis, Jeanie, Dennis, Rodney,

Bonnie, Vernon, Charles, Para, Jimmy and Eddie; sister-in-law Opal Marckmann of Fontanelle as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents; 2 brothers Harold and Ray Marckmann; sister Lizzie Stanley; daughter Muriel Lippold and grandson Robert Marckmann.

Interment was in the North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Memorials to the Stringtown Church.

McKee, Gary Dean -

Funeral services for Gary McKee were held January 10 at the Lenox United Methodist Church with Pastor Audrey Westendorf officiating. Music was taped selections: "Go Rest High on That Mountain" by Vince Gill and "Walk Through this World with Me" by George Jones.

Casket Bearers were Dick Dalton, Rick Nelson, Randy Miller, Phil Johnson, Bill Stevens and Jessie James.

Honorary Bearers were Gail Matheny, Lanny Douglas, Larry Cordell, Larry Schrader, Billy C. Reed, Steve John, Jim Bender, Dave Bell and Jack Rusco.

Gary Dean McKee the son of Lynn and Irma Burk McKee was born November 15, 1937 in Bedford, Iowa, and entered into rest at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 59 years 1 month and 21 days.

He grew up in Bedford and when in High School excelled at sports. He lettered all four years in football, earning him a scholarship at

Northwest Missouri State.

On November 18, 1956 he was united in marriage with Karen Spoonemore at the Baptist Church in Bedford, Iowa, this union was blessed

with the birth of two children; Toni Kay and Stoney Dean McKee.

Gary was a member of the Iowa National Guard from 1954 to 1956. He then served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958 in California and Okinawa, Japan. Upon his discharge from the Marines he was employed with Tote Manufacturing, J.T.I.

Manufacturing and Dalton AG until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Lion's Club, The American Legion and a 40 year member of the Lenox Stock and Saddle Club.

Surviving to honor his memory are his mother Irma McKee of Lenox, wife Karen McKee of Lenox, son Stoney McKee of Lenox, daughter

Toni Will of Lenox, special friend Melody Haidsiak of Lenox, four grandchildren: Jayme Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, Tierra McKee,

Mitchell McKee and Ely Will of Lenox.

Preceding him in death are his father Lynn McKee in 1971 and grandparents Marion and Ida Burk and a sister Karen Swain.

Interment was in the Bedford City Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Lion's Club or the Lenox Stock and Saddle Club.

Norton, LV Hannan -

LV Hannan Norton died Saturday, October 26, 1996 at the Prescott Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona.

He was born January 15, 1926 in Glendora, California, to Bradley H. and Edna (Renner) Norton who preceded him in death.

Mr. Norton served his county during the Korean War.

On March 26, 1983 he  married Rosalie (Weese) White, who is left to cherish his memory as well as his stepsons Shane Bolinger (Cindy) of Prescott, Arizona; Dustin Bolinger of Bellingham, Washington; and Cody Bolinger of Flagstaff, Arizona; his stepdaughter Misty Bolinger of Andover, New Jersey. Also his four grandchildren Alyssa, Shawn, Tracey and Christopher and mother-in-law Doris Weese

of Eldorado Springs, Missouri.

Memorial services were held at the VA Chapel in Prescott. Memory Chapel Mortuary assisted with arrangements.

Ratliff, Leonard Clyde -

Leonard C. Ratliff son of Clyde and Wilda Ayres Ratliff was born April 14, 1913 at Shenandoah, Iowa and departed this life December 22, 1996 at Clearview Nursing Home at the age of 83 years 8 months and 8 days.

Leonard had lived in Taylor County where he attended the public schools. On March 28, 1930 Leonard was united in marriage to Faye

Lucille Scott at Clarinda, Iowa. They lived on the farm 1/2 mile south of Sharpsburg for most of their married life.

To this union three children were born: Mardell Lenora, Allen Leonard and Garnette Faye.

Leonard was a farmer and at one time also had been a Deputy Sheriff and then Sheriff of Taylor county. He served in that capacity from Oct. 1, 1961 to April 8, 1975 when he retired.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Faye, and his brothers Ralph, Richard and Leo.

Leonard was a World War II Veteran - Sargeant First Class; a member of the Taylor County Sheriff's Posse and the Iowa Sheriff's Association, a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge, as well as one of the founders of the Chickasaw Horse

Association. He was also an active member of the Sharpsburg United Methodist church as long as his health permitted.

Left to cherish Leonard's memory are his children: Mardell and husband Robert Page of Fort Madison, Iowa, Allen and wife Beverly of

Dahlonega, Georgia, and Garnette Stroburg of Carlsbad, California; seven grandchildren Linda, Cindy, LuAnn, Mandy, Cory, DeAnne, and Todd; 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, as well as his sisters Flossie Greer of Shenandoah, Eula McCeldry of Florida and his brother Rex also of Florida.

Services for Leonard Ratliff were held at 10 a.m. Dec. 27th at the Sharpsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Al Rusk officiating. Burial was at North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox with military honors by Parkinson Post #250.

Sevier, Martha Schoenfeldt-

Martha Johanna Henrietta Sevier was born August 5, 1900 in Fredericka, Iowa, to Frederick William and Minnie Wilhmenia (Westphal) Schoenfeldt. She attended school in Valley Falls, Kansas.

Martha was married on February 18, 1920 to Harold Irvin Sevier in Osceola, Iowa. To their union was born six children.

Martha lived most of her life in Union County. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. As her family grew, her devotion extended to her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Martha died January 6, 1997, at the Lenox Care Center at the age of 96 years, 5 months, 1 day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold in 1975, one daughter, eight grandchildren, four sisters, one brother, and two sons-in-law.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Dorothy Sterling of Lenox; Betty Page and her husband Bill of Kent; Ruby England

and her husband Bill of Wheatland, Missouri; Jim Sevier and his wife Wilma of Kent; Larry Sevier and his wife Shirley of Macksburg; 25

grandchildren; 66 greatgrandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 10, 1997 at 3 p.m. at Coen-Beaty Funeral home in Creston with Dr. Robert Pickerel! officiating.

Burial was in the Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

Serving as pallbearers were Douglas Sterling, Steve Page, John Roach, Roy Parson, Gene Clark and Terry Mainline. Musical selections

included, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross."

Memorials may be directed to the Martha J. Sevier Memorial Fund.

Starnes, Pamila S Reimer -

Pamila Starnes of Stanford, Michigan, died Sunday, Nov. 10 at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Francis E. and the late Alice (Powell) Reimer was born Jan. 19, 1947 in Lenox, Iowa, where she was

raised and educated. The family then moved to the Midland, Michigan area in 1968.

Pamila is survived by her husband, Chuck Starnes; her father Francis Reimer; her son Joe (Kim) Starnes; her

daughter Laurie (Mary) Anderson; her sister Jackie (Kelly) Monaghan of Creston, Iowa and her grandchildren

Kelci and Turner Anderson.

Services were held Wednesday, November 13.

Thompson, Earl LeRoy (Tommy) -

Earl "Tommy" LeRoy Thompson was born August 4, 1904, in Prussia Township in Adair County, to Marvin A.

Thompson and Barbara Anne Zimmerline Thompson.

On June 4, 1925 he was united in marriage to Charlsey S. Clayton at Creston. They celebrated their 70th

anniversary in 1995.

He lived in the Fontanelle and Greenfield areas until moving to Creston where he worked for the Burlington

Railroad until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Railroad Union.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Charlsey in 1995.

He is survived by a daughter Alice Rice and her husband Verlyn of Creston, daughter Isabelle Jenkins and

her husband Eldon of Lenox, five grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, a sister Viola Hess of Greenfield, as well as

other relatives and friends.

Memorial services was held Friday, December 20th at Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Roy Cook

and Rev. Elmer West officiating. Interment was in the Bohemian Cemetery in rural Adams County.

A Memorial fund has been established in his name.
