In early girlhood she began the Christian life in the Methodist church and just one week before her decease she partook of the Communion at her home church in Des Moines, and afterwards expressed the feeling that it had been the most beautiful service of the kind she had ever attended.

She was a kind and unselfish mother, always unsparing of herself wherever she could be of service.  Even her last hours found her loving hands busy with a loving token for one of her grandchildren.  Of her immediate family there remain four children: Blanche, Ralph, Anna and Roy; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Patton of Bedford and four grandchildren, Donald Wood, Dorothy Coe, and Helen and Dorothy Fay Deremer.

The funeral services were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, April 14, and burial was in the Graceland cemetery west of Bedford, Rev. M.R. Talley of the local Methodist church in charge.
