"This is a painting of Holy Trinity Catholic Church from Aunt Lillian's house in Tama, Iowa. It was around for about a hundred years but as the farmers moved out of the country side, it was closed and later abandoned. To the west was the Dupanda (Stomp) Hall for wedding dances, events, etc. Across the Dupanda highway to the north of the church is the Holy Trinity cemetery where my great grandparents Anton & Julia Zamestal Zmolek are buried. From this cemetery looking north and east is one of the most breathtaking and beautiful views in Tama County....and Iowa. On a calm morning it is 'spiritual.' The church was torn down about 25 years ago."
