Friends of IAGenWeb Annual Winter Meeting January 8 - January 17, 2024 A notice of the January/Winter Meeting of Friends of IAGenWeb was emailed to all Directors, via the Friends-list on 12/22/2023, and the County Coordinators received notification via the IAGenWeb Members-list on 1/5/2024, per Articles of Incorporation Article I Section 3. The following was the Agenda: 1. Call to Order and Roll Call 2. Old Business 3. New Business: 3A. New Appointment of Friends Secretary (Lynn McCleary has agreed to serve the rest of this 2023-2024 term - due to the fact that the original appointed Secretary, Barb Hug, has respectfully resigned for personal reasons.) As appointments do not require a motion, the Board needs to confirm the appointment or object. 3B. Secretary's Report - Reading of Minutes from the past July 2023 Meeting. 3C. Treasurer's Report 3D. Server Funding 4. Comments from the Board and Visitors/Guests 5. Adjournment. 2. Old Business There is NONE to address. 3. New Business A. Barbara Hug has resigned as Friends Secretary (who respectfully resigned for personal reasons.) President Ziemann appointment Lynn McCleary to serve the rest of this 2023-2024 term. The Board voted to confirm the appointment with no objections. B. Secretary's Report The meeting minutes of July 29, 2023 - August 6, 2023 were presented by Secretary Lynn McCleary and are located at the link: President Ziemann deemed the Minutes accepted as presented January 13, 2024 10:57 as there were no additions nor corrections. C. Treasurer's Report January 13, 2024 11:46 a.m. Mark Christian, Treasurer Financial Reports for year end 2023 can be found at: For the calendar year 2023 income (donations) dropped by $193.43 over 2022 while expenses (server, Paypal fees) decreased by $81.46. (A $250.00 donation mailed late December will be in 2024 figures.) The year-end assets of $21,030.58 were an increase of $439.45 over the previous year. We continue to carry a zero Liabilities balance. Questions from Sharyl Ferrell: When a donation is received by mail, paypal, etc. How is the donor thanked, are they given additional info. about our organization, is any sort of 'reminder' sent for future donations? Reply from Mark Christian: They are thanked (and receipt provided) by email or sometimes by postal mail. Reminders are sent. This is handled by Constance Diamond in her welcome committee lead role. President Ziemann deemed the Treasurer's report approved and accepted after no further comments of questions. D. Server Funding Motion Jan. 14, 2024 2:44 pm Mark Christian, Treasurer The annual renewal fee for our server is due 03/25/2024. The renewal amount is expected to be $575.51. In the motion below I am asking for authorization of up to $600.00, once again adding an extra amount for any unforeseen contingencies. Motion made that $600.00 be authorized for a one year renewal of the InMotion Hosting account which hosts IAGenWeb.org. Motion seconded by Cheryl Siebrass Jan. 24, 2024 at 2:59 pm President Ziemann deemed the Treasurer's report approved and accepted after no further discussion, comments or questions from the Board. 4. Comments from the Board and Visitors/Guests Floor was opened for a period of 24 hours for comments from members and visitors. 5. Adjournment January 17, 2024 4:27 pm President Ziemann stated that the January 2023 Board of Directors meeting was now concluded. We will meet again in July 2024.
