Welcome, Roll Call, Announcements
The Chair, Lynn McCleary, called the Emergency Meeting to
order on March 23, 2018. There is an urgent need to obtain funding to move to a
new server. The IAGenWeb LT has approved the move to InMotion
Hosting.

A quorum was present. There were nine guest requests added to
the e-mail meeting.

New Business
a.
Authorization to waive two week notice
A motion was made by Karen De Groote to waive the two week advance notice of the meeting. It was seconded by
Cheryl Siebrass.

Linda Ziemann, Karen De Groote, Mark Christian, Steve
Williams, Gail Kilgore Meyer, Paul Nagy, Nettie Mae Lucas, Barbara Hug, Ralph
Leonard, Constance Diamond. Chair, Lynn McCleary declared the waiver approved.
b.
Authorization of funding
Treasurer Mark Christian reported
that the
service provider for iagenweb.org, PowerVPS, is
ending operations on April 15, 2018. The IAGenWeb leadership team has
approved the selection of InMotion Hosting for our
new provider.
The
new provider will cost substantially less and provide more room for
growth. If we sign a one-year agreement and pay for it in advance the
cost is $29.99/month ($359.88 up front) vs the $65.95 per month we are paying
now. The cost may go up after the first year but will still be lower than our
current cost.
Conni McDaniel Hall made a revised
motion that Friends of IAGenWeb allocate $359.88 to InMotion
Hosting for the first year of providing the server hosting for iagenweb.org, and provide an additional $75 for unseen
expenses. The revised motion was seconded by Steve Williams.
Chair,
Lynn McCleary asked for open discussion until 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 24,
2018. As there were no objections, Chair Lynn McCleary called for a vote on the
motion that Friends of IAGenWeb allocate $359.88 to InMotion
Hosting for the first year of providing the server hosting for iagenweb.org, and provide an additional $75 for unseen
expenses.

Closing Comments and Adjournment
There was no further new business. President Lynn McCleary
declared the meeting adjourned on March 25, 2018.
