W. H. CARL


W. H. Carl, of the firm of Carl & Graves, dealers in furniture, and undertakers; was born in Wapello county, Ia., in 1849, learned carpentering, and in 1872 located at Harlan,and engaged in contracting and building in partnership with W. H. Griffith; in 1876 they bought out the furniture business of William Stanley. In Mar., 1880, Mr. Griffith sold his interest In the business to Mr. Graves. They have a fine business house, carry a large and complete stock of everything in their line, and in connection own a handsome hearse that cost $800. Mr. Carl is a member of the I. 0. 0. F. In May, 1880, he was married at Harlan to Miss A. C. Bergstresser.
