Ninety-nine alumni and guests attended the 101st Shannon City alumni banquet held Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the Eagle's Club in Creston. Co-chairwomen were Bonnie ERGENBRIGHT BAKER (1959), Linda FOY JAMES (1960) of Creston and Ann COMER SANSON (1959) of Clarinda. Registration started at 3 p.m. with a 5 p.m. supper.

Ron SANSON gave the invocation. Ann SANSON served as the emcee for the evening and thanked everyone for attending and making the evening a success.

Special guests were former eighth graders from Shannon City before the school consolidated with East Union school district and graduated in 1965.

Those attending were Donna (PITKIN) SMITH and husband Ken of Creston, Gloria (IBBOTSON) CHALEK and husband Bob of Malvern, Jean (SMITH) GRUVER and husband Don of Creston, Randy HOFFMAN and wife Dianne of Nora Springs, Linda (CONRAD) ROEDER of Davenport, Mary Lou (SIMPSON) CHEERS and husband Ron of Arispe, Sherry (EKLUND) WASTENEY of Ellston and Diana (WEBER) VICKER of Commerce City, CO.

BAKER, JAMES and SANSON will be in charge of the 102nd banquet next year. The date will be Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Eagle's Club, starting with registration at 3 p.m. and supper being served at 5 p.m.
