DRYDEN SCHOOL No. 6

Benton Township, Ringgold County, Iowa

The Dryden School was named after early Ringgold County settler Thomas DRYDEN.

DRYDEN SCHOOL, 1897

Photograph was taken during the Ringgold County Fair, during which all schools in the county exhibited banners. First place in 1897 went to Dryden School.

The school year closed at Dryden No. 6, Benton township, on Friday May 16, 1913. The result of final examinations show the following promotions.

Lela STEPHENS, Vinne STEPHENS, Florence PRENTIS and Cora HERRINGTON received diplomas in the Palmer Method of Business Penmanship. Miss Lela receiving a students' award for proficiency.
