A 19-year-old Kellerton youth is Ringgold County's first fatality in the Vietnam war. Pfc. Charles E. Sissel died December 29, of wounds inflicted by fragments of steel during hostile action.

Barton Abarr became sole owner of the Redding Oil Company, effective January 1, with the purchase of the interest of Dean Norris, who will retire to his farm near Redding.

Gladys C. Ayers (Mrs. Leo) retired December 30, as postmaster at Shannon City, the duties of which she had capably performed for 23 years and eight months.
