Private Homer H. GREENROD, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. GREENROD, born June 13, 1896, Mount Ayr, Iowa; died October 20, 1918, at Camp Sheridan, Montogmery, Alabama, aged 22 years, 4 months and 7 days. Interment at Sweet Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa

He left his home in perfect health
He looked so young and brave
We little thought so soon
He'd be laid in a soldiers grave.
