Haidsiak reunion held

Only July 26, 2015, the descendants of "Piper and Annie" traveled the well known road to the Blockton Community Hall for their annual reunion.

Present were: John Haidsiak, George and Sherry Haidsiak, Susan Chestnut, Paul and Kimberly Wilmes, Ethan and William, Gary and Carolyn Williams, Mark and Shonda Williams, Buster Haidsiak, Gary and Kristi Hanna, Riley Haidsiak, Barb Brokaw, Morgan and Piper, Wayne and Donna Haidsiak, Brylee Haidsiak, Jack and Gladys Stauffer, Carol Dykeman, Mary Longe, John and Arlene Hammer, Melissa Chestnut, Mike Coleman, Trent Coleman, Aaron Coleman, Sarah Chestnut, Lisa Crater, Adam Crater, Crystal Haidsiak, Charlie Collus, Max and Susie Haidsiak, Cheyenne Haidsiak, Jason Chestnut, Melissa Brown, Taylor Combs, Jonathan and Erica Hanna, Darin and Ann Schlapia, Adrian and Andrew, J.P. Whittington, Alaina, Owen and Ava, James Walkup, Dale and Sharon Walkup and Annabel Walkup.

Well-filled baskets of food ws soon put on the tables. George Haidsiak gave words of praise and thankfulness. Also asking blessing on those present and for those who were with us in spirit. After the sustaining and delicious dinner, Kristi and Lisa held and kept attendees involved in the game, Hungry, Hungry, Haidsiaks. Age categories ranged from 3 years to 88. Cheering spectators encouraged participants and often "Foul, Foul!" was heard from the sideline. Winners of the HHH tee shirts, in their category, were: Adrian Schlapia, Alaina Whittington, Owen Whittington, Ann Schalpia and Erica Hanna.

The door prize winner was Sarah Chestnut, winning a hand-crafted family sign. Annabel Walkup won the attendance pool with the exact guess of 58, which then entailed and made a very significant story.

Much conversations and stories were told amongst tears and laughter, all of which was united in love.

Hopefully, we will meet again next year July 31, 2016 at the Blockton Community Hall.
