Clough - Morley Family Reunion

The 97th annual renion of descendants of Samuel CLOUGH and Mary F. (MORLEY) CLOUGH and their families was held Sunday, August 15, 2004 at the Jade Garden in Creston. Five states were represented: Iowa, Colorad, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.

John B. CLOUGH of Palatine, IL, age 90, was the oldest person present. David WOODS of Denver, CO came the farthest.

Al CLOUGH reported that Vesta LAMB of Mount Ayr was honored recently with a party given by family members on her 100th birthday. Roy CLOUGH reported on his family and other Kansas cousins. James K. CLOUGH spoke of the activities of his granddaughter, Hillary (sic, should be Hilary) SWANK, the Oscar-winning movie actress and the involvement of his nephew, Dan WELLES, in the huge model train exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

President Al CLOUGH gave the invocation which was followed by dinner at noon. During a brief business meeting it was decided to hold the 2005 reunion on the third Sunday of August, which would be the 21st, at the Jade Garden in Creston. The secretary-treasurer reported on the finances of the event.

After the business potion of the gathering, the afternoon was spent checking genealogical records, taking pictures and visiting.

Those present to enjoy the day were: Al and Dorothy CLOUGH of Ellston; Margaret WOODS, Mildred M. WOODS and Tom and Allia WOODS, all of Creston; Gayle WOODS of Clemons; David W. WOODS of Denver, CO; Roy and Doris CLOUGH of Lawrence, KS; James K. CLOUGH of Kellerton; Evelyn CLOUGH and Brian CLOUGH of Cameron, MO; Mitchell and Bonnie MORRIS of Afton; Charles and Helen SMITH of Labadie, MO; John B. CLOUGH and Robert R. CLOUGH of Palatine, IL; Marilyn R. PARK of Des Moines; and Ginger LEIN of Urbandale.
