RONALD MAX LAMB

Ronald Max LAMB, the son of Loren and Ruth (POTTROFF) LAMB, was born in Mount Ayr, Iowa on March 4, 1936. He grew up with his two brothers, Larry and Douglas, on the east side of Mount Ayr along highway 169. Loren owned and operated a bait and gun shop from the family home and was a mechanic for Ames Cross. Douglas died in a swimming accident on July 1, 1952.

Throughout his high school years, Ronald worked at part-time jobs. He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1954. After graduation, Ronald went to Long Beach, California where his mother's brother lived, and worked in a grocery store. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in late 1954, serving for six years. While in the service, Ronald married Dena BOHAM from Creston, Iowa, in 1958. They became the parents of two sons. After serving a tour in the Philippines, Ronald was discharged from the Navy at San Diego in 1963. The family moved to Huntington Beach where Ronald worked for Alpha Beta Food Market. In 1966, the LAMBS moved back to Iowa and Ronald assumed a position as the store manager of Easter Super Value Food Store in Newton.

On January 1, 1970, Ronald went to work for Don LAMBERTI who was forming Casey's General Stores. Ronald was in charge of operations and marketing in 1972 or 1973. He was named vice-president in 1977 and in 1979 named the Chief Operating Officer. In 1983, Ronald was made the President, then, in 1996 was the C.E.O. of Casey's. With Don LAMBERTI'S retirement in 2003, Ronald became Chairman, President, and C.E.O. of Casey's.

A few years after the death of his first wife, Dena, Ronald remarried in 1997 to Margery O'BRIEN, a widow.
