Bethards to Teach Music in Diagonal
Harry Fay BETHARDS has contracted to teach band and vocal music in the Diagonal schools during the coming year. He will also
give private lessons and conduct the Diagonal band. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Oka BETHARDS of Mount Ayr, Mr. BETHARDS
has taught in the Arthur schools. He is a graduate of the Leon high school and during World War II spent four years in
the U.S. navy. He received a bachelor of science degree from the university of Maine at Orono, and a master of music
degree from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College at Kirksville. After teaching for one semester at Lineville, he
was recalled to service and when discharged resumed his teaching duties at Arthur. The BETHARDS family includes four
children, Larry, Sharon, Dennis and Carol.
