QUENTIN V. ANDERSON

American Flag.jpg Quentin V. ANDERSON, Representative from Ringgold County, Iowa, was born May 7, 1932 at Ellston, Iowa, the son of George and Lena ANDERSON. He graduated from Ellston High School in 1949 and the American Institute of Business, Des Moines, Iowa. Quentin and Rita C. HEWLETT of Grand River, Iowa, were married in 1957, and the couple are the parents of two children: Clinton Wade and Cherri Lea. Quentin is engaged in various business enterprises which includes a building construction business and operating his 480 acre farm near Beaconsfield. He served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is a member of the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church, Jaycees, Lions Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Farm Bureau. A Democrat, Quentin was elected as a Representative to the Iowa General Assembly in 1963 and served the House for six yearsm and served in the Senate for four years.

Quentin built some of the office spaces in Bethany, Missouri in 1960, and the Kellerton post office in 1962. Quentin and Rita were instrumental in the development of Sun Valley Lake.
