Fredonia No. 9

School Daze Memories from former students and teachers!

Memories from Phyllis Kloster Krumrey (b. 1926)

My Aunt Dagmar taught Ardy and me at Fredonia # 9 when we were very young. Our first duet was “Silent Night” and we sang that in a program in the Columbus Hall in Oyens! Ardy was a little Shirley Temple when she sang “On the Good Ship Lollipop” at the Plymouth County Eighth Grade Graduation in Le Mars when she was only five—it was the year Floyd graduated!

Memories from Ardythe Kloster Schultz (b. 1928)

I remember the day Dad came to pick us up at Fredonia # 9 with Babe and Bess pulling the bobsled. We were giving the neighbor children a ride too when Guy Glascow (a naughty boy) took the ends of the reins and hit the side of the bobsled and scared the team. Dad had to take the ditch to get that frisky team to stop!
